Rawalpindi Board Hockey team looking strong so they could win this match again. The Rawalpindi Board is so far undefeatable in the Inter-Board Hockey Championship.

The center-forward of the Rawalpindi team pushed the ball to his inside right who passed it to outside right. He took the ball and made his way to the ‘D’ but the defenders of the. Gujranwala team cleared the ball. Their center-forward took the ball, dodged three players and gave a short pass to his left-in player near the ‘D’. The defenders tried to clear the ball but it was a bit late. The left-in player entered the ‘D’ and pushed it into the goal. Thus the first goal of the first half was scored within five minutes.

The captain of the Rawalpindi team encouraged his players. They were able to convert a penalty corner into a goal. The two teams tried their best to score more goals but the defenders and goalkeepers of both the teams did their job so well that neither team could score any further goal till the halftime. The Gujranwala Board team goalkeeper successfully stop two-goal attacks from the opposition players. The Rawalpindi Board lead striker is trying his best to sweep the ball in the opposition goal. But the goalkeeper is so talented. He defends well.

The second half of the game is going on. The play in the second half was so entertaining and absorbing. Each team tried its best to win the match. Both the teams made many attacks on each other’s goals. Each team succeeded in getting penalty corners but could not convert them. Gujranwala Board has one penalty stroke but doesn’t have any benefit of that chance.  Only five minutes were left and both the teams were equal with one goal. Gujranwala board tried their best to equalize the goal. They made a few very good moves but each. It looks like a do or dying match for both teams. The players seemed tired and desperate. The final match between our College Eleven and the Jinnah College Eleven was played on 19th February in the Jinnah College stadium. Both teams were equally strong. But Jinnah College has little advantage. Because they are the Winning team of last year’s tournament. Jinnah College defeats Azampur College. The incharge of our college Eleven, Prof. Khalid Mahmood was especially so excited. Our captain won the toss and put Jinnah College to bat. The match started at 10:30 A.M.

The openers seemed confident. Our fast bowler, Azam, didn’t prove so effective. The opening batsmen of Jinnah College hit him boundaries’. The situation was growing grave for us. However, our bowler at the other end was restraining the batsmen from taking runs. After a few overs, our team captain Amer decided to bowl himself. He came to bowl very fast. His first victim is Majid who played well for his 26 runs.

One of our best bowler Amer claimed a Wicket at his first delivery. We cheered him up and shouting Amer, Amer. The new batsman was the next victim who could face only one delivery. And our best bowler is on a hat-trick. Amer is so excited about his first hat-trick in the tournament. On a hat-trick bowl, he got the wicket. This is his first hat-trick in any cricket match. Both the batsmen dismissed for a duck. Amer, Shakeel, Waseem and Yousaf were in their best form. Our wicketkeeper stamp two batsmen. Our fielders also fielded beautifully well. Wickets fell on regular intervals. The Jinnah College Eleven could score only 150 runs or seven wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. They played very well Azam is the leading runs scorer of 54 runs.

After lunch, our team came to play. Zia and Zaka were the openers. Zia is our leading striker batsman. Zia hit the first ball to the boundary for four. He looks great. Zia and Zaka both look good against the opposition team. The bowlers of the Jinnah College tried their best to restrain our batsmen from taking runs but in vain. Our batsmen are the fastest run chasers in the tournament. They will chase the target very easily. Our team was able to score 151 runs in the 37th over. We had won the championship. In the tournament, our cricket team is never lost any match to the opposition teams. Our captain was declared the Man of the Match. Prizes were given away at the end.
